A look behind the process of turning a bookish feeling into a piece made to stay.
A collection rarely begins with a finished design. It begins with a feeling, usually the one that arrives after closing a book and immediately wanting one more way back in.
Finding the detail that matters
I start by gathering the images, words and atmosphere that make a story unforgettable. The goal is not to place everything on one garment, but to find the detail that another reader will recognise without explanation.
Designing something you will actually wear
From there, sketches become layouts, colours are tested and every element is refined with the final textile in mind. The reference should feel special to the fandom while the piece still belongs in your everyday wardrobe.
Made one piece at a time
Once an order arrives, the garment is prepared in my home studio in France. Producing to order keeps unnecessary stock to a minimum and means each piece already has a reader waiting for it.
